Aurecon – Enhancing efficiency in supplier risk assessment

Aurecon is a leading global engineering and advisory company committed to driving innovation and excellence in its operations. To enhance efficiency in supplier onboarding and supplier risk assessment processes, Aurecon sought a solution that would provide comprehensive insights and seamless workflows, including compliance with Australia’s Modern Slavery Act.

The Challenge

Aurecon needed a more detailed and efficient way to assess both suppliers and clients across its supply chain. The incumbent platform and processes lacked the depth of information required, leading to several key challenges:

  • Manual and time-consuming supplier onboarding using PDFs and emails
  • Difficulty integrating risk assessments from Dow Jones and financial due diligence checks from Dun & Bradstreet
  • Limited flexibility to modify survey questions based on evolving needs
  • Inefficient ad hoc reporting and audit processes, making it difficult to assess supplier risks quickly
  • The need for industry and regional-based supplier risk assessments, as well as financial due diligence for clients

As the project evolved, Aurecon expanded its scope to include legal risk assessments, exposure analyses, and financial due diligence, ensuring a comprehensive approach across multiple business functions.

The Solution

Aurecon partnered with Informed 365 to automate and streamline supplier onboarding, risk assessments, modern slavery compliance checks, and client due diligence. The platform replaced manual processes with an integrated, standardised workflow, allowing suppliers to submit required information seamlessly. Informed 365’s built-in modern slavery assessment functionality allowed Aurecon to assess risks effectively and ensure compliance with local and international regulations. Additionally, supplier registration workflows were optimised, allowing new suppliers to onboard quickly.

With third party integrations from Dow Jones and Dun & Bradstreet, Aurecon gained real-time insights into supplier risks and client financial stability, and modern slavery exposure. The platform’s flexibility enabled quick modifications to survey questions to address emerging compliance requirements and facilitated ad hoc reporting, significantly improving efficiency and risk management.
